Smile Project update

I would love for YOU, yes YOU,
to join me in this collaborative piece of art.

This is an update to the absolutely beautiful smiles that are presently part of my Smile Project.  They make me smile when I look at them!
What are you waiting for?  Come join in the fun!

One morning last year, as I woke up, this idea was in my head.  It's been residing in my heart waiting to come to fruition.  Lately,  I've been feeling little nudges urging me to get it out of my heart and out into the world.   My intention is to create a piece of art expressing the value of a smile and the title is tentatively going to be "When You Smile the World Smiles with You".  (this title is subject to change during the creative process)

This is where you come in:
IF you believe in the value of a smile and want to participate all you have to do is email me a hi-res photo of you smiling to smileee001@aol.com - in the subject line please type smiling face.  Once I receive your photo I will draw your smiling face and I will let you know when I will be posting it.
In most instances, your photo on your facebook profile will do.   When I have gathered enough smiling faces I will be creating a very unique and fun piece of art.

Art in the Yard

My friend, Carol, and I are having a Art in the Yard sale on Saturday, April 21.  If you are in the area it would be great to see you!  I've had several people make comments  that they wished they loved closer so they could come.  This sparked an idea!  I have now adjusted the prices on my website www.teresacash.com to reflect the prices I will be offering at the art sale.  No pressure intended! :-)

Here is a piece I will be selling at the yard sale that is not listed on my website.  It is dimensional and the poppies, the stems, and the buds are made from hot glue.  Can you believe it?   I then painted it with  Golden acrylic paints.  Including that stand it measures approx. 11"w X 27"h.  If you are interested send me a message.  I believe it will go rather quickly, if not, it's mine.
Let me tell you about the Good News Angels.

These little angels have held a special place in my heart since 1993.  (just ask anyone who has known me for that long)  They came to me in a dream, it was placed upon my heart to deliver the message regarding the power of a smile, these little angels became the means to do that.  The next day I created my first rough draft of the angels.  The message she carries is simple, yet profound, "If each of us would find a way, to bring a smile to someone's day, we could make a difference in the world."

Each Good News Angel is handmade, not produced in a factory.  Which means that each angel is unique-no two are exactly alike.  She is made with lots of love and attention!   When I started making and selling her 1993 I used a portion of the proceeds to anonymously purchase food for someone in need.  I'm going back to my original idea.  I want her to continue to do good things.  It isn't about making money, it's about helping people.
photo fivedollar_zps16771bee.pngFrom the sale of each angel $5.00 will be held in a reserve.  When $100.00 has been reached WE WILL anonymously buy groceries for someone in need.  This is truly another way to bring a smile to someone's face.
I will humble myself and ask you to please take go to the store on my website http://www.teresacash.com/shop/goodnewsangels.html and order a Good News Angel.  Help me make the world, one person at a time, a better place.

Pay It Forward

Pay It Forward is a concept that I have believed in for many years. Hearing someone (Thanks, Jessie!) say it last night caused a light bulb to go off in my mind.  It was as if this was just the answer I was waiting for.

You see, I create these  little Angels that first came to me in a dream in the spring of 1993.  (you can read more of  their story by clicking on this link (http://www.teresacash.com/aboutlittleangels.html)  My intention was crystal clear then and it is the same today.   I wanted to find a way to warm someone's heart and ultimately bring a smile to their face that radiates from their heart.   We all know that when we smile the world smiles with us.

These little Angels are designed to deliver a special message from you.

Here's how the Pay It Forward begins.  You order a little Angel from my website http://www.teresacash.com/myshop/littleangels.html I will send the little Angel to whoever you want me to send her to.  Inside the note card she will carry your heartfelt message that will surely bring a smile to the someone's face.  It can be a message of gratitude, expressing your concern if they are going thru a rough time in life, or even just a simple "I'm thinking of you".  The point is you took the time to express your genuine appreciation for this person and you did it in a way that was unexpected.  How cool is that!

This is how I will help with Pay It Forward.  For every little Angel that is ordered I will donate $5.00 to a charity that will help another person.  If you have a favorite charity provide me with the name and it will be entered into a drawing.  During this time (from now until November 30, 2013) I will also remove the shipping cost ($5.00) for you to send your little Angel.
It's asituation.

I'm soooo excited about this.  I hope you will join me in this effort to Pay It Forward.  You can include your friends/family in this project, too.  The more the merrier.  Here's the link to this post  http://www.asmilemaker.com/2013/11/pay-it-forward.html

If you have any questions send me an email @ teresa@teresacash.com

art is everywhere

Here's the story... when I paint I will often use a plastic lid as my paint palette.  It's a easy clean up.  After the paint dries you just peel it off.  Earlier today I was panting black and white checks in my art journal .  When I went to remove the dried paint this is what I discovered.

Most times it's the simple things in life
 that can make me smile.
